NIS funeral benefit

The National Insurance Scheme (N.I.S) funeral payments are made on the behalf of nationals with registered contributions to the scheme  . The requirements to access this facility is provided below.

• Part payment receipt from funeral home
• Computerized death certificate
• Applicant’s Identification card
• Deceased Identification card
• N.I.S Form

All NIS checks are made payable to the applicant.

Social Welfare requirements

To apply for a social welfare funeral grant the following are required

• Invoice from the Funeral Home
• Computerized Death Certificate
• Applicants Identification Card
• Deceased Identification card

Once the deceased qualifies for this grant, a receipt with be given to the applicant to be taken to the Funeral Home

Financing a funeral from Financial Institution

If this is an option being pursued, you will need the following for the financial institution.

• Invoice from the Funeral Home
• Computerized Death Certificate
• Applicants Identification Card
• Deceased Identification card
